League Match Rules Guidance
At the AGM on 8 June a new Constitution was agreed. The main change was to split out the rules for the League competition but the opportunity has been taken to make some revisions. Your Club Secretary has a copy and the full rules will also be published on the League website. READ THEM! Your attention is drawn to the following:-
Matches must be played on the specified home date unless the home club premises are not available or if exceptional circumstances arise and a postponement is agreed by both captains and agreed by the H&DTTA Results Secretary. A fixture cannot be postponed on the fixture date and must be played through even if one or more players on either or both teams cannot attend on the day for any reason.
Failure to complete a fixture must be reported to the Results Secretary the next day.
Only players registered with H&DTTA are eligible to play in League matches. New players should be registered with the Results Secretary at least 24 hours before the scheduled match.
Players may not play for more than one team on the same night and, after commencement of the match, may not practice on tables not in use for the match.
Players may play for a higher team in their Club for a maximum of 3 matches and after 4 matches they will be reregistered for a higher team, eg if a player registered for a club 4th team plays up twice for the 3rd team and twice for the 2nd team, the player will be automatically reregistered for the 3rd team and the 2 games already played for the 2nd team will mean that the player can only play up 1 more game before being reregistered for the 2nd team.
Matches should start at 7.30 pm or sooner by agreement.
Matches may not be played for double points.
For all matches a result card must be posted to the Results Secretary or Press Secretary as applicable within 48 hours. At the Management Committee’s discretion 1 point may be deducted for every result sheet received late.
All fixtures must be completed by Friday 14 May 2010. Points will not be awarded for un-played matches.
